Class Description

Ashtanga Yoga, the eight-limbed path of yoga, is a classical system of yoga that provides vinyasa (breath-synchronized movement) and philosophical guidelines for practice on and off the mat. Ashtanga vinyasa made its way to the United States in the 1970’s and inspired many popular forms of modern yoga, such as Power Yoga and all flow-based practices. This monthly series will delve deeper into the philosophy of the eight limbs and the basics tenets of Ashtanga vinyasa, including asana, pranayama, bandha, and drishti. http://www.ashtangayoga.info/

About the Teacher

Jamie Martell is a recent Georgia transplant from Phoenix, Arizona and has been teaching yoga for several years. She is passionate about all things yoga and enthusiastic about sharing her love with others. Jamie strives to make her classes lighthearted, fun, and personally meaningful with the intention of inspiring others to find balance in all areas of their lives.
